Electrical Design Engineer

Performs product design tasks as a member of new product development teams as well as product improvement projects. Concentrates on current designs, focuses on manufacturing issues as a learning experience. High level of schematic design using CAD. Creates and modifies Carel controller programs. Receives high degree of input from Project Engineer. Concentrates on product improvement projects. Performs some testing and model shop work.
Acts as integral member of specific new-product development teams as well as product improvement projects. This will often include generating elements of design. Conducts preparation of electrical schematics, modification of controller programs, and building prototypes for products under development.
Uses Solid Works Electrical to create and modify schematics.
Designs parts and products for achievement of project goals, ease of manufacturing, reduced cost, and use of common parts.
Investigates and resolves problems with parts fit and function, or improve function or ease of assembly generally at productions request. (Support weekly change meeting process).
Has ability to develop in-depth product knowledge in order to quickly provide design changes on product improvement projects.
Develops part drawings per RenewAire drafting practices.
Works with manufacturing to develop processes and process improvements.
Follows administrative functions and prepares necessary forms to be used in the new product release process i.e. item masters, change control process, etc.
Works with materials team to obtain quotations and vendor qualifications.
Works with manufacturing team to design for manufacturability.
Prepares drawings for use in product literature and marketing needs.
Searches out new components, hardware, etc. for use in new products or to improve existing products.
Acts as point of contact for clarification of existing part drawings for vendor use. Explains drawing to vendor, revise drawing to remove ambiguity, or change part. Issues part revision where appropriate.
As necessary checks received parts for conformance to our specifications.
Stays technically current of new developments in technologies used in our products.
All other duties as assigned.
Education/ Experience Requirements:
BS Electrical Engineering or BS Engineering Technology with 2-5 years' experience
SolidWorks Electrical experience desired
Minimum 0-5 years CAD design experience (SolidWorks experience desired, a solid knowledge of CAD Software)
Previous experience designing heating, cooling, fan or blower equipment preferred
Product testing aptitude and experience a plus
Intermediate to advanced technical design skills including SolidWorks Electrical experience
An excellent grasp of engineering and design principles
Intermediate level Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook skills
An understanding of manufacturing processes
An appreciation of business demands, the ability to meet deadlines
Strong problem solving skills
Detail oriented with strong written and oral communication, organizational and analytical skills
Good team working skills

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
