Job Summary:
The primary function of this role is to assist the Distribution Coordinator in all aspects of distribution projects, including arranging for appropriate staffing and overseeing the temporary labor pool. The Distribution Specialist will be the primary back-up to the Distribution Coordinator.
Essential Job Functions:
Understand the distribution value stream and implement the distribution workflow
Read and understand distribution tickets & relay information to distribution team
Perform pre-release quality control checks, including verifying inventory, supplies, system settings
Perform import and release of distribution projects
Assess packaging needs
Stage orders according to zone requirements
Operate forklifts, reach trucks and riding pallet jacks
Follow Pick Check Pack operation to fulfill orders
Check in temporary employees according to security protocol
Review safety policies with new temporary employees
Serve as backup to the Distribution Coordinator
Skills & Educational Requirements:
Minimum one year experience in warehouse pick/pack
Must have good keyboard and computer skills
Experience operating forklifts, reach trucks and riding pallet jacks
Strong counting and reading ability
Ability to follow oral and written instructions
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Excellent problem-solving skills

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
